Philip has over 20 years experience with a proven track record in accounting and financial management, operational management, strategic planning and analysis and risk management. In January 2002, Philip founded Shepherd Advisors, Inc. and subsequently partnered with U.S. Corporate Ventures Group.

Prior to Shepherd, Philip was with ING Investment Management as the Director of Risk Management, Private Equity where he directed the monitoring, evaluation, and risk management of the private equity strategy and products including leverage buyout funds, fund of funds and secondary funds totaling over $1 billion of assets under management. Previously, Philip was the Chief Financial Officer of Hampshire Equity Partners, a leverage buyout fund with assets under management of $700 million, focused on equity and distressed debt investments in established private and public middle market US based companies. The foundation of Philip’s professional experience was a 10 year career at BDO Seidman, an international accounting and consulting firm. Philip’s experience at BDO included auditing services to private and publicly held companies, as well as advisory services in connection with financially troubled companies. Philip left BDO as a Senior Manager.

Philip received a BBA in public accounting from Pace University and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Certified Public Accountant.
